Pulling The Handbrakes!

Ok... I've not posted anything new for quite a while. Reason is simple... I've not bought anything Star Wars for a looooong time ("loooooong" being relative of course). The underlying reason? I just bought myself a Playstation 3 a while back! And I *did* mention that I *was* getting ready for The Force Unleashed game, right? :)

Anyway - as we all know, the global economy is starting to suck big time. Things are getting more expensive, yaadeedaadeedaa.... lots of toys that scalpers would have jumped at, have re-emerged at retail outlets, and are STILL on the shelves after so long! So, collecting is becoming a "lighter" and less burdenful activity now. Thank God for that!

So I'm pulling the handbrakes for now... ("now" being relative of course). There will of course be more acquisitions, but on a smaller and more focused scale (this is my 99th attempt at quitting the 3-inch action figure line).

Unleashing The Force!

While I promised myself not to follow the 3.75-inch Action Figure line anymore, I simply couldn't resist (what's new, right?) these action figures from The Force Unleashed video game, which is soon to be released on popular game consoles (might even need to get me a new one of those too! Haha!). This is "wave 2" of 2008, consisting of the characters Maris Brood, Juno Eclipse, Imperial Jumptrooper, Imperial Evo Trooper, Emperor's Shadow Guard, Rahm Kota, and a Battle-Damaged Darth Vader. Can't wait to get my hands on the game... the figures look so cool!

Electronic Helmets

Similar to the earlier versions released by Riddel a number of years back - the Darth Vader and C3-PO Helmets, with electronics! Since I didn't get the Riddel versions, it was rather timely that these ones were released, this time by Master Replicas.

More Vehicles

Recently added to the collection, the AT-AP (All Terrain Attack Pod) and General Grievous Fighter. Some interesting vehicles have been surfacing this year... good stuff :)

Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter with Hyperspace Ring

It's finally landed! Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter from Episode II : Attack of the Clones, now with the Hyperspace Ring! I've been waiting for this thing to come out for a long time already!

Some Latest Comic Packs

Recently acquired - a number of Star Wars Comic Packs which contain each, a comic reproduction, as well as 2 action figures based on the comic that comes with it. Latest acquisitions include (1) Baron Fel and Hobbie Kilvian from X-Wing Rouge Squadron (2) Anakin Skywalker and Assassin Droid, and (3) Commander Keller and Galactic Marine - both being from the Republic comic series.

Qui Gon Scaled Lightsaber

Also added today is the Master Replicas Collectors' Society 2007 exclusive scaled lightsaber of Qui-Gon Jinn from The Phantom Menace. In a special box set, this saber also comes with a 30th Anniversary pin. Sweet!

Scaled Helmets

Just added today are the Master Replicas 1:2 Scaled Helmets of Boba Fett, and Stormtrooper. Nice pieces, they are... if I could only afford the full 1:1 scale Stormtrooper helmet - now that would be something else :)

Mandalorians In The House...

As mentioned in the last post - it's sure been quite a while since this blog was updated. Anyhow, "not too long ago" - the Republic Elite Forces Mandalorian packs were added to the collection. 2 of "7-packs" consisting of the Mandalorians and Omega Squad, and Mandalorians and Clone Troopers packs, respectively.

The Circle Is Complete!

It actually happened about a month ago - when I finally managed to secure all of the 60 action figures of the 30th Anniversary line for 2007. Just didn't have the time to update this blog.

Phew! Now I can finally sleep peacefully.... for now at least!
